What’s a CI/CD pipeline?

A Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipeline (CI/CD pipeline) automates software delivery processes. It’s a highly efficient method consisting of building code, running tests (CI), and deploying new releases or applications faster.

What does CI/CD mean?

Continuous Integration (CI) is a software development practice in which all developers merge code changes in a central repository multiple times a day. Continuous Delivery (CD) is the practice of automating the entire software release process.

Continuous Delivery includes infrastructure provisioning and deployment, which may be manual and consist of multiple stages. What’s important is that all these processes are fully automated, with each run fully logged and visible to the entire team.
