For many of us, 2020 has been one of the toughest years in memory. Pretty much every aspect of our lives has been touched by the pandemic. Those of us fortunate enough to be able to work from home have adjusted our routines for our new work environment. I’m incredibly proud of the work done at Eggplant over the last 12 months in the face of these numerous personal and professional challenges.

I want to take this opportunity to highlight the achievements we’ve accomplished together in the last year.

Joining the Keysight family

The biggest highlight came in June when the world’s leading hardware automation provider, Keysight, acquired Eggplant. Joining the Keysight family gives us the ability to not only scale our work to a much bigger audience, but truly carry out our mission to rid the world of bad software. The acquisition also allows Keysight to add our software test automation capabilities to their first-class hardware design and testing. The fact that we were the biggest software acquisition in the UK this year is a testament to the hard work of our people and the trust our customers have shown in us, in these challenging circumstances.

Getting better all the time

Our technology has also made leaps and bounds this year, with a special mention of our latest offering, Digital Automation Intelligence (DAI), being released in the cloud. This is already our most popular service, which demonstrates both the market’s appetite for a cloud-based test automation solution and the ability of our product to solve key business problems. We also continued rolling out improvements to our other offerings like robotic process automation (RPA), monitoring insights, and performance and load testing.

Industry recognition

2020 also saw us being recognized by Forrester as top of our class in functional test automation. We were selected as the leading vendor in our category, both in terms of our current offerings and our overall strategy, which encompasses our vision and plans for developing Eggplant over the next few years.

We’ve also recently been nominated for several awards recognizing us as a leading vendor in software test automation. Based on criteria that include commitment to customer satisfaction, value for money, and reliability, we have been nominated for both the North American Software Testing Awards and the European Software Testing Awards.

Growing together

Finally, in a year that has seen many companies furloughing or laying off their employees, I’m really proud to say that we have grown our team. In total, we’ve welcomed over 60 new people to the Eggplant family and look to continue this growth into the new year. Needless to say, we could not have achieved this without the support of our ever-growing customer base.

Looking forward

As we look forward to a better world in 2021, I would like to once again thank our colleagues, customers, and partners who helped us through a challenging yet ultimately rewarding year. We’ve got some amazing things in store for the next 12 months, and I can’t wait to see what we can build together.
